Mr Wojciech Musial from Poland contacted me and sent the following photo:

No 20169 Constable JK Roberts (SAP 198028): Killed in a train accident near Crackow after being liberated from a POW Camp. (Gallantry Awards of the South African Police by Terry King p336). Photo: Wojciech Musial.

He is a member of a reenactment group portraying South African fighting “Up North” during WW2.
